My Movement is My Independence!
MovementGuard is a privacy-preserving, non-contact movement intelligence and analytics platform that tracks meaningful changes in daily movement, routine and recovery.
Designed for people living independently or in supported settings with frailty, rehabilitation, elevated falls risk, cognitive impairment or care-support needs. MovementGuard helps families, care organisations, councils and clinicians see when support may be needed sooner, without cameras or wearables.
Available through subscription packages, MovementGuard supports care at home, supported living, rehabilitation pathways, and independent living by turning everyday movement patterns into clear, actionable care insights.

Small changes in movement and routine can signal bigger changes in health, recovery and support needs — but they are often missed.
Whether someone is recovering after illness or injury, living with changing mobility, or beginning to need more support at home, these changes can happen quietly over time. Reduced activity, disrupted routine, slower recovery or increasing inactivity may not be recognised until they lead to a fall, hospitalisation, loss of confidence or care escalation.
Families, carers and care teams often have limited visibility between visits, appointments and check-ins. As a result, support is too often reactive rather than timely and informed.
MovementGuard exists because there is a need for earlier, privacy-preserving insight into meaningful functional change, helping people get the right support sooner while preserving independence and dignity.
The Problem

Our Solution
An innovative, personalised, non-contact sensing system that learns each person’s daily routine while tracking meaningful changes in movement, activity and recovery over time.
When meaningful change is detected, MovementGuard provides clear, actionable alerts and insights, helping individuals, families, care teams, rehabilitation professionals and care organisations understand what is changing and when support may be needed.
These insights enable earlier check-ins, timely care decisions, prioritised rehabilitation follow-up and more confident independent living.

Lead Engineer & Founder
Dr Nazia Gillani, founder and lead system design engineer of MovementGuard, brings almost a decade of research and development experience in intelligent systems for movement abnormalities, including Parkinson’s disease, amputations, falls, and frailty.
She has co-designed these intelligent systems with older adults, GPs, geriatricians, occupational therapists, and carers — ensuring each solution is ethical, practical, and user-led.
Nazia’s research has been endorsed by clinicians and users for its real-world usefulness, and she was awarded the Intel InnovateFPGA Global Design Contest Bronze Award for outstanding innovation.
